MAC Rubenesque Paint Pot

I think most people will agree with me when I say that I don't have a lot of time to get ready in the mornings. Well, I would if I got up when my alarm went off. But who does that? So that's why I love using MAC's Rubenesque Paint Pot. Yes, on the weekends when I have time to get ready, I love doing a makeup look that involves six eyeshadows and the whole shebang. But on a school morning when I've pressed snooze four times and have fifteen minutes to do my skincare routine, get dressed, put my makeup on, have breakfast and brush my teeth, this is handy. MAC describes it as a "golden peach with gold pearl" which I would say is what it is. It provides a light wash of colour over the lids but you can obviously do a couple of layers and build it up if you want to. As it's a golden colour, I think it would suit a lot of skin tones and eye colours, but I think the peachy tone goes really well with blue eyes. I guess it depends on how oily your eyelids are but I don't bother using a primer with this and it seems to last me until bedtime when I take my makeup off. Some people use it as a base for other eyeshadows but I personally think the colour is pretty enough to wear on its own, and I prefer to use a colourless eyeshadow primer so I'm not limited with it. Paint pots cost £14.50, quite expensive for a cream eyeshadow but a) it's MAC which is more of a high-end brand and b) I've had this since May last year and there's only a bit of a dent in it so it lasts you a long time.

Just to let you know, I've scheduled a couple of posts because I've got a Belgian exchange student coming to stay tomorrow so I might not have a lot of time to blog over the next week.

What's your favourite quick makeup tip?

  5. This colour looks really pretty! I might invest in this, but it is pricey, and I do really love the maybelline colour tattoos, which are a lot cheaper!
